Family Place at the Selinsgrove Library
The Family Place uses pre-reading learning stations and free play
areas to encourage parents/caregivers and children to explore reading and
development skills together.
The Family Place at the Selinsgrove Library will be open for
parents/caregivers and children birth through five years, before and after
weekly programs on Tuesdays 9:30-10:00, 10:30-11:00, and 11:30-Noon; and
Wednesdays 9:30-10:00, 11:00-11:30 starting September 4th.
Lubow Frey, our Family Place Coordinator, will be available to
demonstrate how to use the activities and resources to help their child's
literacy development.

Teen Programs
The Teen Advisory Board will meet every Thursday evening at 5:00 PM in the
Selinsgrove Community Library. All teens are welcome to join. The
Teen Advisory Board creates programming for teens ages 12-18, recommends books
for the young adult collection, writes teen reviews of new books and
participates in volunteer opportunities at the library.
Selinsgrove Community Library will hold a Teen Movie/Game Night on the 3rd Friday of
every month from 5:00 - 7:30 PM. All teens are welcome to come, meet new
friends, learn about great books to read, and have fun.

Discussion Groups
The
community is invited to participate in monthly book discussions at the
Selinsgrove Library the second Tuesday of every month September 2007 through
June 2008. The library will host a morning discussion at 9 AM in the
Selinsgrove Borough Chambers and an evening discussion at 7:00 PM in the lower
level of the Selinsgrove Library. Each month a new book will be discussed.
A monthly book list will be published in the Selinsgrove Library, in the Daily
Item, and on the library's web site at
www.snydercountylibraries.org.
This program is free and open to the public. A limited number of monthly
book titles will be available for purchase at the library to encourage community
participation starting in August 2007. Prices vary. For more
